Mar. 1st, 2008 06:18 pmhello everyone! :] it's my first post
I'm not sure if this is allowed, but i have a question.
If I want to get tickets to the Arashi Dome concerts, how do i do that? i don't live in japan, but i really want to get tickets. I'm going during the summer as my senior trip and it's my first time to japan or to asia in general. I'm really excited, but going to the arashi concert would just be like a dream come true.
If anyone could help, it would be appreciated!

Date: 2008-03-02 02:56 am (UTC)Ticket shops you really need to visit in person, so you never know which day, or whether there are even any tickets left. But the prices are pretty reasonable; just don't be expecting good seats, or even 'seats' at all; my tickets ended up being standing. Fanclub get the best seats.
Yahoo!Japan auctions are much easier, but there are drawbacks. You have to use a bidding service like Rinkya or Crescent Shop, and you have to be REALLY careful about the tickets. DO NOT BID ON FANCLUB TICKETS. You will be turned away at the door if you are not the fanclub member who's name is attached to the ticket. Furthermore, when you get tickets on auction sites, you will be paying a LOT. Remember my standing-only seats? They cost me a little under $150 a pop after bidding fees and such. And that was for Yokohama Arena; Dome is much more, usually in the range of $200.
Not to be a total downer, but getting tickets outside of Japan is REALLY hard. Good luck though; I thought my experience was totally worth the price tag!

Date: 2008-03-02 05:18 am (UTC)Just be careful not to buy tickets they've invalidated (they used to have a link to it on the main J-net site, I'm not sure what's going on with that -- if they still do it).
But yeah, getting tickets if you don't live in Japan nor have a good friend with a Japanese address will be hard. Non-FC tickets will be a pain through auctions because they only go on sale 2-3 weeks before the show now so the timing is tight (same with FC tickets too since they don't mail them out as far in advance as they used to). Someone should make a FAQ on this...

Date: 2008-03-02 06:17 pm (UTC)I'm entering since I'm moving back to Japan in May (even if I wasn't moving back, I'd just go for another 6 weeks like last summer). I don't plan on having any extras since I'm short of cash this year and every year I get taken advantge of for tickets.

Date: 2008-03-02 09:19 am (UTC)And as far as when fanclub tickets and when regular tickets go on sale, fanclub tickets are......now. Right now. I'm in the fanclub, and you have to enter the ballot for tickets in the next week. Of course, you wont know if you hit or not for another month or so. And you wont know your seats until about two weeks before the show, give or take.
I dont know about non-fanclub tickets, as I've never had to buy them normally. I also dont know about Harajuku tickets, as I've not used them personally, but I have had friends who have used to them and gotten really good seats, although those were for sort of smaller venues (not Arashi, for sure), and they paid like twice the going rate for them.
It may not be much, but another option would be to keep an eye on eljay here. I've seen tickets to Arashi cons going here from people who have an extra to people who happen to be in Japan. If I have any extras I will prolly put them up here. Although I think everyone checks with their friends first, as one should expect. XD
