Follow SMAP, Kinki Kids! Arashi will have a 5 MAJOR DOME TOUR!

The popular group Arashi announced that they will have their first 5 national major dome tour from 5/16 to 7/6. They are the third group to do this after SMAP and KinKi Kids. They plan a fabulous stage which will introduce a new stage item. After successfully completing their first oversea tour 2 years ago, and last year's Osaka and Tokyo Dome Concerts, Arashi continues to move on.

Arashi goes on to conquer the nation's 5 major domes: Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo. Startig with Kyocera Dome Osaka on 5/16, they will complete 10 performances until Sapporo Dome on 7/6, aiming to have 440000 people.

Arashi had a successful overseas tour 2 years ago in Taiwan and Korea. Last year as a returning concert, they held 9 performances at Yokohama Arena and Osaka-jyo Hall, but had 350000 people apply for tickets when they could only accomodate 135000 people. Even after the nation-wide tour, 380000 people could not get tickets for Tokyo and Osaka concerts, so they added Dome Concerts in Septemeber and October.

The members are ecstatic. Sakura Sho (26) says "I'm just really happy. I hope we can create a big footstep for our 10th anniversary next year. It feels like the concerts in Asia, the concerts last year, and everything combined together brought us here right now. I hope to make it a concert where people who come can receive happiness and strength. Aiba Masaki (25) says "I'm really pumped up for this huge challenge. We plan to make it a huge success, but I just hope it will be successful. I'll even work to the point of falling down."

The concerts plan for a "new mechanism." In Arashi's previous concerts, they created a "moving stage" where the stage moves above the arena seats, awing the audience. Sakurai comments that this time's mechanism will also awe the audience.

The tour title is "ARASHI Marks 2008 Dream-A-live" The members gave ideas, and chose Sakurai's. "The 'Marks' means to make Arashi's mark in 2008," says Sakurai. The "Dream-A-live" is for the concert theme of living between reality and dreams, having a dream as we live.

9 years since their debut in November of 1999. They will continue to run at full speed this year.

- Having currency
This year there will be the summit in Hokkaido as well as the Beijing Olympics. The producer of Arashi's concert says "We hope to have some relevance with the summit and the olympics," making it a great concert headed towards next year's 10th anniversary. He says "it is a pleasure to be able to have a 5 dome tour in an eventful year. We hope to have everyone imagine what Arashi will be like next year."

- Matsumoto Jun (24): The concert theme is between dreams and reality. The dream-like entertainment world, ourselves on TV and our raw selves. We'll create a stage showing everything using the dome. We'd like to enjoy the pre-anniversary year.

- Ninomiya Kazunari (24): I hope to be just ourselves, without any worries, so that the fans can enjoy it.

- Ohno Satoshi (27): I'd first like to thank the fans and staff. I hope to make the dome festival successful along with everyone, as we did for last year's Tokyo and Kyocera Dome Osaka Concerts.

WHOO! I'm so excited! I'd been so worried that, the one year I'm here in Japan, they wouldn't hold a summer concert!

But, out of curiosity, would you happen to know when they normally start allowing FC members to ballot for tickets? I asked this in another post as well, but I'm hoping to get a lot of opinions as many people seem to reach different conclusions when it concerns the Johnny's FC. I just joined awhile ago, so I've never gone through the process...

From: [identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com
As long as you've got your fanclub membership number, you can ballot now. The mail forms have already been sent out; mine was in the mail today. But if you haven't gotten one yet, you can get all the same directions usually by logging into the fanclub section of Johnny's net (I haven't checked for this tour specifically yet online, but usually they put up PDF copies of the mailers). And the deadline for this tour is March 7th.

From: [identity profile] novelizedbella.livejournal.com
Oh no! I only just turned in my paperwork yesterday...I was told by my advisor here at Kobe Jogakuin to wait because that was better, but then I did it anyways because I was too worried. And I guess I'll be too late for the deadline...wow, that's really disheartening.

Do you know what the chances are of Playguide sales? I mean, it seems like a short tour...but domes are normally pretty big, aren't they?

From: [identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com
You probably won't get it in time then. And for the Time shows at Dome, I believe they sold out two-day shows at both Osaka and Tokyo Dome entirely through the fanclub, and thousands of people still couldn't get tickets. It might be a bit different this time just because there's three other Domes on the list so people who live really far away won't be as inclined to go to Tokyo and Osaka, though.

But even if you can't ballot and they don't do Playguide, it's still not impossible to get tickets, so don't give up! There's always Yahoo!Auctions, and I used this site (http://www.ticket.co.jp/) to get my own Dome ticket last summer. The site is ridiculously easy to use; you can pay via konbini, which I love. :D Good luck!

Date: 2008-02-25 11:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] novelizedbella.livejournal.com
Ahaha, I guesss it's my fault that I had waited so long to join the FC, ne? And I remember last year, so I guess chances are slim on the Playguide. Is that ticket site you used a reputable one? Normally I wouldn't mind, but I've been hearing about all the restrictions they've been posting lately, and it makes me a little worried about tickets that I don't buy myself, or go with a friend with. If I can get a ticket from there or Yahoo!Auctions, when should I start looking, do you think?

Thank you for the luck! I'm still hoping!

From: [identity profile] nyonyo.livejournal.com
Just don't buy a ticket online with the specific seat number posted, since JE will cancel those seats. I've heard it's not that uncommon to ask sellers to write you a note excusing your name being different or whatev. But honestly, Dome shows are so huge that they don't ever check names; the ticket takers have enough problems trying to get that many thousands of people in the door on time. So I wouldn't worry.

I bought off that site for Tokyo Dome and I had no issue getting in, despite the fact that I'm a foreign girl who had a Japanese girl's name on the ticket. I had no problem using that site either, I like it better than Yahoo!Auctions since then you don't have to deal with the bidding stress and I only have to go to the konbini to pay. I've only used it the one time for the Dome ticket, but everything went smoothly then.

As for when to look...people will start posting tickets for sale as soon as they find out if they hit for tickets or not (I'm not sure when that'll be in terms of date yet, you usually have to call the concert hotline for the dates, but I'd venture anywhere from two weeks to a month after the deadline). It's just a usually slightly more expensive version of being in the lottery, though, since like the fanclub members, you won't know where your seat is until the tickets are sent in the mail.

So if you're willing to gamble on your seat like everyone else, you can buy tickets as soon as they're posted. But if you'd rather know where you're sitting, you can wait until two weeks before the show and then people will start posting tickets with the gate numbers included so you'll have a ballpark figure of where the seat is. If money is a concern, then I'd probably advise buying before the seats come out, because the prices shoot up. I got really lucky with mine when I bought (think I paid about 22,000 yen to sit right in the middle of the Dome) but at the time people were paying even 30,000 to sit on the second floor. And tickets for floor seats or near the hanamichi will go for 100,000 and up. *g*

Ah...that you for so much information! I guess I shouldn't worry so much about ticket now...I've just been really hesitant because everyone keep saying they'll ID every person. But it'd be way too difficult at a Dome concert, wouldn't it? Also, I am Chinese-American, and everyone confuses me for Japanese here anyways. It wouldn't be as suspicious as someone who doesn't have an Asian face. And then I could always ask for a note...

Lol, sorry, thinking to myself!

Also, is 22,000 yen the norm for tickets sold by FC members? I wasn't sure, as the regular ticket price for FC members is less than a 1/3 of that cost, isn't it? And how do you use that site that you posted in your reply? I'm afraid my Japanese isn't the best yet...

Again, thank you so much for your help!! I really appreciate it! :)

Ask for a note if you're nervous, but I really don't think you need to worry at Dome. Especially if you line up when the doors open when the big rush hits, they're really more worried about checking your bag than anything else.

6500 is the original price, yes. I bought my ticket close to the concert last year, so I don't know what sellers were charging before the seats went out, I just know my price was pretty lucky at the time. But tickets shouldn't be that much before seats go out.

My Japanese was good enough to figure out the site, but it's not hard. The Johnny's tickets are all listed at the bottom of the main page, so Arashi will show up right there when the tickets go up. Then, just look for the date you want and click the button on the right when you want to buy. If your Japanese isn't the best and you use Firefox, I recommend the Rikaichan plugin (http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/): whatever Japanese word you scroll the mouse over, the English translation shows up. Once you register for the site, though, it's really easy to buy in just a few clicks. :)
