Looking for Anime Central (ACEN) Congoers

Alright, I'm apologizing ahead of time because this has little to nothing to do with the Arashi we know and love over in Japan, but it does relate, if rather distantly, to them. So basically I'm attending the Anime Central Convention this coming May 11th-13th weekend and was hoping to gather a general JE/Japanese Entertainment/Asian Men/Etc. fan group to, well, fangirl (surprising, I know).



So, if you ARE going to ACen and interested in seeing the gathering described in this thread of the ACen Forums (or here on Cosplay.com forums) happening, leave a comment (or, even better, post on that thread if you have an account on those forums). Since the response has been rather... small thus far, a time and place for meeting during the convention hasn't been confirmed, or even suggested, yet. I was personally hoping for morning/midday on either Friday or Saturday at some point, but I'm open to suggestions :D

I know it's not Arashi or whatever-fandom specific, but that's simply because I had a feeling the response would be small and wanted to keep it open to asian men in general just in case. I apologize if this is a problem, because I understand not everyone loves every JE group/entertainment fandom :( Although I strangely find IRL "my favorite JE group is better than your favorite JE group" kind of arguments appealing, LOL.

Well, I don't have much else to say about this, I guess. SO. Anyone going/interested?


EDIT: The official times/location for this meeting have been set! There'll be two meetings:

1) Friday at NOON
2) Saturday at 8 PM (after the Masquerade)

Both are set to meet where the fountain USED to be (see the second page of the ACen forums' thread mentioned above for further details on location). There also may potentially be a room gathering to watch JE things, but it hasn't been concrete yet. Further details on that might have to wait to be discussed at the meetings themselves.

Also. I'm offering to keep in contact with everyone in the event ANY plans change. If you want, you can email me with your phone number and name (and I'll reply with mine) and I'll do my best to update everyone right away if anything changes. If you're not comfortable giving out this information, then you can still email me and I'll just give you my number for you to call if you have a problem/question/etc.

My email is SSCherryBlossom@netscape.net. Even though ACen starts in two days, I'll most likely have WiFi at the convention center, so it's completely okay to email me even after ACen starts if need be.

Also, I'm so sorry for the crossposting and the blatant changing of the fandom name per post D:. But since I felt the response would be terribly small, I wanted to extend the gathering to as many Japanese/Asian men-type fandoms as possible. SORRY D:

1) YES. I am so in for this. And I'm going to go ahead and commit my really good friend chibi18 as well. We're Johnny's "enthusiasts" to the maxx :D

3) Oh, I can't wait to see that! I'll be personally wearing a fanmade KAT-TUN concert t-shirt even though my love of JE bands is TOTALLY universal (but that's the only tee I have that's relevant, LOL). I'M JUST AS EXCITED NOW. There was only, like, one other person going before I brought the news to LJ :D

And yes, as for time and place, I'd say check back on this post to see what's been confirmed for the meetup, okay? (I can drop you a comment at your journal too, if you want :D) But yeah, it'll be definitely editted before Thursday of next week. As of right now, we're trying for a gathering at 11 am Sunday outside the front doors (but that can easily be moved if people don't want to be outside).

Dude, you'd clearly kick my butt XD At this point, I'm really only good at Arashi, with everyone else I still need a lot of work. Hah. But I get excited at the fact that I'll probably acquire more knowledge over the course of our gathering than from countless hours of aimlessly browsing the interweb. I'm gonna get me learned! Cool!! I'll definitely check back here and on the ACen forums. Isn't it annoying how they haven't released the official schedule yet? It's so hard to plan stuff >.< But Sunday at 11am works for me! I'll keep checking for updates [thumbs up]

Also, like I said in the comment above, for time and place, since it hasn't been confirmed, this post'll be updated with the information once it IS confirmed. Check back by Thursday and everything should be arranged by then. :D At the moment, we're trying for a gathering outside the front doors of the Hyatt at 11 am Sunday. If that doesn't work, make sure to let me know so I can try and get as many fans on the same page as possible :D

I might be a little late on Friday since my plane doesn't arrive until 1130 AM. I also do not know how far the shuttle is from the airport ^_^;;;;.
