The Kohaku uta gassen cries

Hey I know this is just a weird post, but the other day when I watched Arashi's ootori performance in kohaku uta gassen, I noticed Aiba started looking like he's about to cry during Happiness song (which he eventually did). Does anyone know why? I assume it's because he couldn't perform in Johnny's countdown. Also why didn't he perform?
At this point I'm super curious.

I imagined he cried because of all the built up stress from being the host & it almost being over + being back with his group again and feeling supported by them. I imagined he also had to do activities related to being kouhaku host afterwards, so he couldn't make it to johnny's countdown, or he might have been really tired.

As we know, Arashi is the last performer for kohaku.
I really think that Aiba felt so relieved that he can do the MC task (as he was very nervous before) until that last point, including to perform the medley as the 5 of Arashi.
I suppose that it is because of the stress too, but it's more like he felt really relieved.

For the Johnnys countdown, I thought that the other 4 members also do not come like 2, 3 years before.
Aiba had to stay behind at the NHK hall for the interview session (usually).
So I think it make sense that the other 4 members went to Tokyo Dome for Johnnys countdown as they did not involve with the interview session.

They went to Aiba dressing room after kohaku end, to comfort him. ^_^

Hi! I think he cried because, he frustasted, he feels like he can't perform as a MC in Kouhaku right...because 'his' team lose to kasumi chan's team...and he feels responsible for that~~~ so when Nino see Masachi like that, he almost laughing outloud! hahahaha *Rub Masachi's Back* [there...there Masachi you still can do it next year~

I think he cried cause of sense of accomplishment!! He did a guts pose too at the end of the song!! Aiba usually cries at the last days of tours too.. and in the past his stageplays.. (he's a crybaby)..

When Ohno saw him he started to cry too.. (he did mention in AD that he might cry when he sees Aiba's hardwork at the end).. (he cried when he went to Jun's stageplay, yeah another crybaby)..

Nino did laugh, but actually he cried too.. A fan who was there mentioned that they all wiped their tears when the vtr was going of all the performances, yes Nino, Jun & Sho included!!! This was all before announcing winning or losing!! They were all overwhelmed with emotions!!! Evidence of how they knew the burden on Aiba and supported him, and how he accomplished it!!! (a group of crybabies) xD

He may felt sorry and bitter too for losing (Which I'm still angry at the result) but that was after!! I think he did a splendid job, even though he apologized, i heard Jun telling him not to!!! And the evidence is that the tv audience gave them 4 million votes for the white team, that's almost 2 million more than the red. The hall audience too voted for the white team!!! It's just the judges who had other ideas!!!!

The ratings too is high than two years ago!! So yes, Aiba did great but he's too humble..

Obviuosly he cried because i felt relieved and suddenly felt all the pression fall down from his shoulders. he said so during the interview afret the end of the show.
When Arashi hosted the JCD they just did a performance on the roof of the NHK (for a show broadcasted from another tv). Last year they went at the JCD because they had time to do the rehersal and to go to the Tokyo Dome with ease. This time, they had the honour to be the last to perform there so, after the end of the show they went straight to a car toward the Dome, but Aiba needed to greet, one by one, all the artists there, give interview. It was already scheduled, since the other 4 were wearing an "AIBA MASAKI's jacket"
