I have two questions that I'm really curious to know about.

First, I noticed surfing through livejournal, that many Asian countries like the Philippines,
Malaysia, and more, have had gatherings of arashi fans around the community.
I was wondering if there was ever one similar to that in the United States (any state lol),
because I've never yet come accross a post mentioning something like an arashi fan
gathering in the United States :/

Also, does anyone know what "shop photo reprints" are? maybe someone who
is familiar with selling of JE goods? are they just basically photos that fans printed from
a scan of a shop photo at a photo printing place?

You should do it! I live in NJ but I would definitely travel to NY for an Arashi fan meet. I don`t know any other Arashi fans besides my sister and it would be nice to fangirl with new people. XD

Usually you just find people in your area (there was a comm for Florida johnny's fans for a while but it never took off) and then you guys can plan meets that way.

As for the shop photo reprints - yes, that's exactly what they are. They're people either copying or simply taking other's scans and printing them out to sell. Shop photos retail for 150yen a piece so unless they are original, old and rare, I would never pay more than 1000yen for one.

US meetups are usually up to individual people in that area. My friends and I usually try to organize one publicly advertised meetup a year in Minnesota, but then plan smaller events via Facebook or whatnot.

I don't see many on the West Coast at all.. A few in Southern California that I saw mentioned but nothing more came of them.. I see them more on the East Coast.. which totally sucks for me lol

I know only one other person sort of personally that lives down there that is a fan... Though knowing you guys are so close to where the boys tend to run off too makes me jealous! I live in Oregon now but I'm NoCal born and raised ^^ I miss the sun *siiigh*

Ah, I see :) Yeah, that's one thing good about california; weather is always nice :D
And I always think about arashi coming to Los Angeles or somewhere close like hollywood
for vacation and everytime I think about it, it makes me want to camp out at LAX (airport lol) everyday
for the one in a million chance that I might actually run into them!! hahaha
but highly improbable LOL

I know ZERO arashi fans around me.. and most of my friends dont even know
that I'm into arashi haha IF arashi ever does come to a concert here, I'd have to go by myself >_< haha

while improbable, if they ever DID come that close to me, I would sell my entire though non existent kingdom to get there for them of I could even get tickets... so you wouldn't have to be alone :D

When I watched the special for Gantz, when Nino and Matsuken had to go through the city to see if anyone new them I was like WHY WASN'T I THERE??? D: My sister lives in LA.. she knows nothing of them. Tch.. if it were me, I would have been STALKING... properfangirlstalkerisproper XD

Sorry for butting but ugh the special for Gantz made me so sad!! I was there at the premiere so I was really lucky I got to see Nino up close! <3 but the next day my friend and I thought that they would go to Little Tokyo (obvious is obvious right? wrong!) Who thought they would go back to Hollywood! :'(

I live in L.A and there was a ton of fans at the premiere that I got to meet and fangirl with and we were gonna do a couple meetups but it never took off :(( sadness. But if there was anything planned my friend and I will be there for sure! :D

He was shining!! He looked incredible and he even spoke english!! I was sooooooo happy that i got to see him live and i even got to give him a gift i was crying :') i rarely go to an 'Arashi' event but my friend and i fangirl all the time. I'im pretty sure she gets tired of it after a while tho, thats why i really wanna go to fan meetups/events. Where we could sing all Arashi karaoke and watch dvd cons or something.

I rarely see any in So. Cal!!! I know when MatsuJun/Nino (luckily I met up with my friends from both of those so I wasn't alone haha) came to LA there were some people "gathering" but not really a fan meet. But that would be super awesome! But prob in LA haha No SD :(

yeah he had gone..2008 for a premiere of his movie he did "The Hidden Fortress"? or whatever the longer title is for it haha I didn't get to watch the movie where he introduced it in Engrish lol but I still got to see him a couple times because he had left during the screening haha and my friends and i just stayed outside in case he would leave...and he did haha he did the peace sign to us and i was like "gahhhhhhh <333333" hahahaha of course i would remember that lol

there is a community, called je_us_fans where people plan gatherings. to my knowledge there isn't any arashi-only version, but i have been to some meetups organized via that community.

"shop photo reprints" are shop photos that have been re-printed by a third party so they don't have the johnny's entertainment logo on the back. i'm sure someone can correct me about this.
