Seeing the Sakura Sake entry, I went back and watched the PV. I always enjoyed seeing the organic chemistry behind Jun and his bony friend, but I never bothered to stop and look at it. Did anyone else notice that it's a picture of a chain of alpha-linked glucoses, and that the terminal glucose is missing a bond? More importantly, does anyone know what the Japanese writing around the board says? I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but the video is easily accessible at youtube. Most importantly, does this count as studying for biochemistry?

Wow. I'm surprised you can even see that in detail on youtube. Quality's not great over there.

*shuffles off to look on own high quality video*

Well, I don't know much about biochem, so I wouldn't be able to confirm your theory, but I know that the katakana slightly off to the right of the board says "buret". Can't help with kanji though.

... And I don't think it counts as studying. Sorry. XD

I'm pretty sure the kanji after buret says "reaction" or "responce"

Btw, do you know what the two huge letters of kanji behind Ohno mean? I've always wondered.

erm...i just know the second kanji at the right hand site of the blackboard. It means "the soul" or "the spirit" and it is pronounced as "huen" in chinese. As for the other kanji, there is no such word in chinese (according to my 20 years' of learning experience ^^")and sorry about that. Hope this may help u a bit...

well if it can be @spirit@ or @soul@ and ohno's like a gym teacher, it's probably some pep-making @be a good sportmasnam@ kind of phrase

I'm pretty sure that the kanji highest to our right of the screen says something along the lines of "the amount of children who change to fit in"
and the one below I'm having trouble identifying the middle kanji (ironically while I'm supposed to be doing Japanese homework) but the first means "shrink, shrivel, contract, reduce".

I'm also having trouble seeing the second Kanji behind Aiba. How frustrating!

that definately counts as studying! i mean, come on, your actually looking at the board and not jun! and in great detail at that! lol. ^.^ I should try studying like that. I'll have to check out the thing about the bond, but i cant read japanese so i cant help you there.

Thanks to all who have responded. From them, I'll make the huge guess that it's a glycogen degradation. Each glucose getting cut off is like a child? and that makes the chain shorten?
