GANTZ: PERFECT ANSWER American Release

According to this article, GANTZ: PERFECT ANSWER will have an American release after it's 4/23 release  in Japan. It looks like the movie will be dubbed in English based on the trailer. There is no official date yet, but the trailer can be viewed in the article.

and the worse part is that it will be full of otaku and no fangirls, as was the case with the first one in my area.

I am forever creeped out by the dubbing of Gantz.

I think I would have enjoyed it more if the cast said their lines in thick-accented English.

I love your comment "Thick Accented English" I'm really sad that even during the interview Nino said he didn't like it dubbed :( didn't they get the message? I'm sad but I'm still gonna go see it to support it but I'm definitely gonna buy the dvd's :D

everyone in america! restrain yourself from watching this movie in english dub! i never saw the first movie, but now listening to the dubbing, it doesn't do justice.
just wait until the dvd is release so we can watch in japanese! you can do it! >

But if Americans don't go and watch the movie, then they aren't supporting Nino/Matsuken/GANTZ and based on the number of people that do come out to watch the movie, it will effect whether movies like GANTZ will be brought to America in the future and if it will get a DVD release. So "restrain yourself from watching" would not be a good idea. :/ Plus, there is no confirmation on whether the movie is dubbed or not.

I don't think it will be dubbed, considering all the negative press regarding the dub in both countries, Nino's comments (he also talked about it on Bay Storm too I think :/), and New People showing the first one with subs to sort of make up for what happened. This is just the trailer they played at the end of the dub last time.

...dubbed again? I don't like dubbed shows, but I can understand why shows are dubbed.

As much as i don't like shows dubbed, dubbing is for the benefit of the illiterate. Like how subtitles were originally for the deaf, I think. Before it evolved to a translation thing. Furthermore, people read at different speeds. To give them the benefit of doubt, the movie distributors probably hoped that dubbing will attract non-Gantz fans. Anyway, they should probably screen both versions and let people choose. I mean, illiteracy is definitely on the decline in America. But of course, it could mean lesser profits.

Still, watch anyway! Support Gantz! =)

It is disappointing if they still made it dubbed despite Nino's and the audience's requests. D; I remember Jun's movie here in LA premiere was subbed! And everyone appreciated the subs because as soon as the subs came out, the audience cheered "yes!" XD

They actually had a subbed showing recently in my city and it sold out so quickly. Don't they think that if it was dubbed it might actually pull MORE people in to see it? That's the reason why I didn't see the premiere- I waited for the dub, but I know I'm just in a lucky position to even have a subbed version offered in the first place.

It's especially important to hear their voice, imo. The words and their intonation is important when trying to convey the meaning, and this meaning is lost when a movie is poorly dubbed. Or dubbed in general.
