Best Intro to Arashi Clip?

I'm at my wits end and I'm hoping my fellow Arashi fans can help me out here!
I recently got married and am thinking about the best way to introduce my husband to my Arashi obsession. He kinda had an idea about it before we got married, but I haven't really shown him any of their stuff just yet. Since Arashi is a big part of my life (lol) I'd like for him to know what they are about, and hopefully in time, get him to watch them with me!
I'm looking for a clip that I can show him that really captures the essence of who Arashi is... so something really funny, something which shows their baka side. I've thought about scenes from AnS, Odoroki or classic A or G no Arashi, but I'm having trouble pinpointing a really good intro clip.
Any suggestions of what clip would be a good "first look" at Arashi? Thanks in advance!

Date: 2009-11-18 05:53 pm (UTC)Youtube clips would be the way to go! That's how I got into them (I couldn't imagine getting into their music before that). Stuff like Aiba's ENGRISH!!!! Arashi singing Arashi blind folded...
I could go on forever! ANS is great too. Like when Oshima (sp?) went on or when Ohno ate a sparrow.

Date: 2009-11-18 05:57 pm (UTC)I think that's not bad, a lot crack and fun and no need to know that much about their personalities to understand it.
And maybe some good DnA parts. Like the ones, they were visiting the abandoned themepark? Or the ones with Meguro? Even my mom found those amusing and she has no clue about Arashi.
I'm sorry I'm no help with the exact numbers, but I can't remember those.^^"
Congrats on your wedding and good luck arashifying your husband. :D

Date: 2009-11-18 06:09 pm (UTC)and D no Arashi 64 (Abandoned theme park) and 107 (abandoned waterpark)
As an afterthought--A no Arashi is often highly entertaining to non-fans--I recommend the -50C freezer ones D no Arashi 83 & 91, or the one at the zoo, #38.

Date: 2009-11-18 06:05 pm (UTC)Your other option is to drama-bait him, which I think works more often ^_^ I'd go with YTM, HYD or Maou.
HYD and YTM are what got my husband on board. Now we watch 80% of the subbed stuff together \o/

Date: 2009-11-18 07:30 pm (UTC)Another answer to the question:
Like petite_ran said, let him watch the haunted hospital/hotel episode of Himitsu. Those are the first few vids that I showed my parents and they laughed so hard they were already crying. ^^

Date: 2009-11-18 06:21 pm (UTC)Or pick a PV for a song that you know suits his taste in music, as long as it isn't too overwhelming (lol).

Date: 2009-11-18 07:00 pm (UTC)Then they started watching dramas and asked for some recs, and I showed them Maou and RnK. Now we listen to nothing but Arashi CDs in the car.
But my friends (who were much harder to convince) I got through concerts. Time and AAA2008 proved most successful.
But if you asked me what I think would work best, I'd go with some classic DnA episodes. Like 'Leave it alone' experiments and actually, Odoroki no Arashi!! might be a good idea since it's full of o-baka experiments meant for prime time.
Hope I helped some. Good luck with the introductions :)!

Date: 2009-11-18 07:38 pm (UTC)As someone mentioned before, the Utaban watermelon craziness (http://dvampyrlestat.livejournal.com/26151.html) would also be a hilarious intro (plus it involves all 5 of them).

Date: 2009-11-18 07:53 pm (UTC)I think any AnS that has a funny game will do the job. G no Arashi is a good one too.
Actually I think this post did a pretty good job to sum up why you should love Arashi. But no video in that post though.

Date: 2009-11-18 09:41 pm (UTC)I think if you can find something that Arashi has done that he can relate to, he'd probably warm up to them a little more easily. I wouldn't really recommend showing him anything where Arashi is being especially touchy-feely because it can make some guys (and girls) uncomfortable. Are there any Japanese actors/actresses/comedians he likes? If so, you should check to see if any of them have been on Arashi no Shukudai-kun.
If he doesn't speak Japanese then I'd grab something with subtitles, of course. Someone mentioned the Watermelon Utaban...I'd have to agree with that. Even just thinking about it I can't keep myself from cracking up. XD

Date: 2009-11-18 11:49 pm (UTC)i think it was ep 13 of AnS
OR.... one of the ep of VSA. guys like sports and i think your hubby would like that... a winning ep, or at least one of the SP (the latest subbed on was the 3rd SP i think would be best)

Date: 2009-11-19 12:25 am (UTC)and when i got introduced into arashi, the first thing I watched was the liquid nitrogen experiment (DnA 21 if I'm not wrong). A no Arashi is a great way, and those odoroki SPs too :)And AnS and VS Arashi is a must too :) Or at least VIP Room from HnA or the haunted house ep too ^^

Date: 2009-11-19 02:04 am (UTC)Leave it Alone experiments were good (my brother knows Ohno as 'the guy who eats anything' XDD) and as many have mentioned, the Haunted House epis (but the one with Sho in it XD) Also, my brother said he liked Ni No Arashi XDD (first he got into Gaki no Tsugai and got used to the craziness of Japanese shows and then walked into my room one day, sat down, and watched Himitsu with me...then the next night he asked to see more XDD quite reluctantly, i may add XDD)

Date: 2009-11-19 04:14 am (UTC)I would recommend the Odoroki no Arashis, the first one with the gravity experiments is pretty eye catching.
even my dad enjoys them, and he may be fed up with the johnnys jimusho stuff my sister and i feed him.
On concert grounds i would recommend either AAA2008 or Iza NOW!!, well they are just my favorits
on solo works, to show on record they are not just pretty faces, Iwo jima kara no tegami, for Nino, Maho for Oh-chan and The Quiz Show for Sho.
hope it helps you
and blessings on your life

Date: 2009-11-19 09:37 am (UTC)Just a friendly advice to you from a sales person: don't push the product (Arashi) onto the customer (your husband). The customer might get annoyed, and that's bad for the product.
Just do whatever you normally do in your everyday life. If you normally watch arashi shows alone in the middle of the night, just keep on doing it, don't hide it from him. Be cool :) Let him come to Arashi on his own. I say this bcos i felt happier uncovering arashi on my own by accidental discoveries.
Generally, succesful sales are accomplished when the customer buys the product thinking that it will benefit him, and bring him joy.
Hope all goes well!

Whoops, very long. Let me know how it goes with you. Good luck! :-)
