Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has ordered Johnny's calendars from sites like cdjapan, yesasia, hmv-japan, playasia, or any other sites? I'm asking because I want to buy the calendar, and I usually order from cdjapan, but the shipping for the calendar is around 50 dollars. All other sites offer normal shipping rates but don't have product details so I don't know if I'm getting all of the materials or not.

Can anyone tell me why cdjapan's shipping is so high? Or if anyone has ordered the calendars from other sites, did you receive everything alright?

Thanks in advance! Thanks for the fast responses!

Any of the normal sites such as cdjapan, yesasia, playasia or hmv should include everything that comes with the calendar. I usually order from cdjapan because their shipping is the fastest and the most secure. Both YesAsia and PlayAsia are located in Hong Kong (i'm pretty sure for PlayAisa, positive for YesAsia) so they have to receive the items from Japan before they can even ship it to you. HMV is also in Japan like CDJapan, except their shipping may say it's cheaper at first, then jump up when it does ship because of actual weight. Airmail and EMS from Japan goes by weight, so the heavier something is, the more it will cost to ship.

I would recommend ordering from CDJapan for the simple fact I've never had a problem with them like I have with YesAsia and their shipping is definitely the fastest. Most of the time I receive items the day of or BEFORE it's supposed to be released.

Try buying from hmv japan. The goods will arrive in good condition too, and the shipping is cheaper than cdjapan. I think because CDJapan has a cheaper selling price, hence the shipping is where they make up for it.

I'm going to guess that one reason why the cdjapan shipping is so high is because the dollar/yen exchange rate stinks. Personally, I don't think it's worth it to buy from cdjapan right now and $50 shipping is o__o;;;;

I got a t&t calendar from yesasia last year. Everything came fine and it was well packaged too iirc. I'm in the US and items usually arrive in 10 days or less from their California warehouse. I don't mind waiting an extra few days and it's nice that they charge in USD so I usually go with them for preorders.

I haven't experienced it myself, but I've heard that hmv can raise the shipping prices on you for calendars bc the initial number they give is an estimate and I've heard people complain that they got damaged t&t calendars two years ago due to shoddy packaging :/

I haven't gotten a calendar from playasia before but they screwed me over with a single preorder so I wouldn't trust them with preorders anymore. I preordered a single weeks before it was due out and they mailed it out a week after it went on sale because they didn't have enough stock >:0

I hope that helps!

I generally buy all my goods from CDJapan only because it's coming straight from Japan, they usually get the items first, and when it's CDs, you help the boys jump up on the Oricon Charts XD But for the calendar, when I saw that I would have to pay $90 USD just for shipping, I decided to order from YesAsia. I remember with Arashi's calendar last year, when YesAsia failed to mention in their product details about the additional Cookbook item, alot of people who had ordered from YesAsia emailed them like mad asking if it was included. YesAsia, although they failed to mention it, did indeed send the Calendar with all the right items.

Basing on that, I just went ahead and bought from YesAsia. I don't know how they'll get away with only charging ~$10 for shipping when CDJapan is trying to charge me $90, but I'm sure they'll send the calendar in whole condition, because otherwise they wouldn't be a legit online superstore and they would have had a lot of complaints from last year :P

BTW, another part of why the shipping at CDJapan is so high is because they're forcing everyone to go with EMS shipping, which on one hand, delivers hella fast, but on the other, is hella expensive.

If you are located in USA or Canada or whatever, I think it's better to order with YesAsia. They were always fine with me, never had a problem once, when I wanted to change my order, they answered me very quickly.. If you are willing to wait a bit to receive your package, it's the best choice for $$ ^_^ Also, my goods were always in great condition.
50 dollars only for shipping fees in way too much. Remember that the currency is not in a good health so it surely does not help...
... but my choice is definitely YesAsia

I believe its because its their 10th anni, and usually after JE groups 10th Anni they stop doing calenders...
So I think it comes with a lot of things too...
[I'm not 100% sure on this but this is what I've heard from other people..]

I pre-ordered mine from Kinokuniya so I don't have to pay shipping!
I guess it depends on where you live too. :/

Seems like CDJapan is being a bit exorbitant with shipping recently..
I ordered last year's calendar from YesAsia, and it came within a week, good service~ it seems like its cheaper from YesAsia this time too.

But this time I got to order from Kinokuniya ^_^v

I almost always buy off Yesasia (global, since I'm not in US or Canada) and I recommend it. Since I live on a desert island in the middle of the ocean *grumble* shipments arrive on the 8th day. I can pay with credit card as well, so I get a better exchange rate than with Paypal. Paypal exchange rate is always so high *grumbles more*. I'm sorry that I'm ranting =="

Last year, I bought my HSJ Calendar from yesasia, and it came in perfect condition, bubblewrapped and everything.

One of my friends love using CDJapan, but with EMS you need a signature, so everytime something comes, its off the post office unless you would be home to receive it.
