Hello!
I was wondering if anyone has ordered Johnny's calendars from sites like cdjapan, yesasia, hmv-japan, playasia, or any other sites? I'm asking because I want to buy the calendar, and I usually order from cdjapan, but the shipping for the calendar is around 50 dollars. All other sites offer normal shipping rates but don't have product details so I don't know if I'm getting all of the materials or not.
Can anyone tell me why cdjapan's shipping is so high? Or if anyone has ordered the calendars from other sites, did you receive everything alright?
Thanks in advance! Thanks for the fast responses!

Date: 2009-01-19 04:32 am (UTC)I would recommend ordering from CDJapan for the simple fact I've never had a problem with them like I have with YesAsia and their shipping is definitely the fastest. Most of the time I receive items the day of or BEFORE it's supposed to be released.

Date: 2009-01-19 04:56 am (UTC)I got a t&t calendar from yesasia last year. Everything came fine and it was well packaged too iirc. I'm in the US and items usually arrive in 10 days or less from their California warehouse. I don't mind waiting an extra few days and it's nice that they charge in USD so I usually go with them for preorders.
I haven't experienced it myself, but I've heard that hmv can raise the shipping prices on you for calendars bc the initial number they give is an estimate and I've heard people complain that they got damaged t&t calendars two years ago due to shoddy packaging :/
I haven't gotten a calendar from playasia before but they screwed me over with a single preorder so I wouldn't trust them with preorders anymore. I preordered a single weeks before it was due out and they mailed it out a week after it went on sale because they didn't have enough stock >:0
I hope that helps!

Date: 2009-01-19 05:01 am (UTC)Basing on that, I just went ahead and bought from YesAsia. I don't know how they'll get away with only charging ~$10 for shipping when CDJapan is trying to charge me $90, but I'm sure they'll send the calendar in whole condition, because otherwise they wouldn't be a legit online superstore and they would have had a lot of complaints from last year :P

Date: 2009-01-19 05:54 am (UTC)50 dollars only for shipping fees in way too much. Remember that the currency is not in a good health so it surely does not help...
... but my choice is definitely YesAsia

[I'm not 100% sure on this but this is what I've heard from other people..]
I pre-ordered mine from Kinokuniya so I don't have to pay shipping!
I guess it depends on where you live too. :/

Date: 2009-01-19 09:29 am (UTC)Last year, I bought my HSJ Calendar from yesasia, and it came in perfect condition, bubblewrapped and everything.
One of my friends love using CDJapan, but with EMS you need a signature, so everytime something comes, its off the post office unless you would be home to receive it.
