So, in the usual scheme of Arashi color-coding, purple = Matsujun and green = Aiba, right?  But in all of D no Arashi, G no Arashi, and Arashi no Shukudai-kun, if you look at the text that appears when they speak, Aiba's is purple while Matsujun's is green.  Does anyone know if there is a reason behind this?  Or are they just playing with our heads?

I always thought of Aiba's as being pink in those shows? Since I just finished watching all of D no Arashi, haha. I dunno. I guess they couldn't make up their minds?

I just think it's awesome that they're color-coded in the first place. :D They really are a rainbow.

It's just that particular broadcast channel I think, and Aiba isn't purple but pink from what I can remember. Maybe, because it's separate from Johnny's, they decided to come up with their own colours or something. Though with the other broadcasting station, Mago Mago Arashi had the 'original' colours but VS Arashi is all over the place.

They never really stick to a color coding system for very long. Fandom seems to have assigned them distinct colors, but if you take a look back over the years at old videos and new videos you'll see that while they often each wear a different color, they don't always all wear the same ones. For instance, as I recall in the A*Ra*Shi PV, Ninomiya wears orange, Sakurai wears red, Ohno wears yellow, Aiba wears blue, and Matsumoto wears aqua; then take a look at We Can Make It PV and you'll see Ninomiya riding down the red pole, Sakurai on blue, Ohno on green, Aiba on yellow, and Matsumoto on pink. See? totally different! They also color code their mics in concerts, their handhelds always match their earpieces, but even from concert to concert they change slightly. I am pretty certain that if there is a "right" system, only Johnny Kitagawa knows it and he doesn't seem to enforce it, so I'd say, as a fandom, we should try to get over having a convenient color coding system and let the boys be associated with whatever colors they look good in. (and let's face it, that is every color of the rainbow!)

But in some interviews and talks they call theirselfs by color...
I don't really think that they take serious...
But i already saw Jun call Sho 'red' and talk 'the blue one'....
things like that make the fandom related they with the colors too

Though, it seems that only Aiba and Jun ever got mixed up between D/G no Arashi. The other three were pretty stagnant. In concerts though, especially D"A"L this year -- the colors were all as we know them; Green (Aiba), Purple (Jun), Red (Sho), Yellow (Nino), and Blue (Satoshi).

So I think it's safe to say that those are THEIR colors.
