Hello everyone!

I'm new to the Arashi fandom (found out about them a month or two ago) and I adore them to pieces. On Wednesday night, one of my best friends was in a horrible car accident. He had to have 3 different brain surgeries, is currently in a drug induced coma until the swelling in his brain goes down, and will most likely struggle with effects of brain damage when he does wake up.

Needless to say, I've been stressed, nervous, upset, exhausted, and so on and so forth. The point is that getting a chance to be silly here and there really helped me and continues to help me through this difficult time. Watching Arashi TV shows (thanks to dedicated fan subbers), making icons, and listening to their upbeat music has been a huge help.

I was wondering if anyone else uses/has used Arashi to overcome troubles?

Also, I bring a few icons. They aren't the best with my focus all over, but I thought I'd share anyway!

Funny this should come up. I was just getting into Arashi when my older brother was in his accident and was hospitalized. So yes, I can relate to the usage of a fun, upbeat band to help ease any problem.

I wish you and your friend the best of luck.

:( is all that can really be said about the first part. But Arashi helps me through everything, good and bad, so I definitely relate. I'm glad you have them when you need them.
*squish* I'm a stranger, I know, but everybody needs hugs.
And your icons are amazing. I like the Hana Kimi ones too ^_^

Hmmmm, I had relationship problems last year, and the climax was December... Well, that was exactly the time I started with Arashi, watched my first shows and everything, and I can say it helped me a lot. Not that all my problems vanished away, but my feelings changed, and since then I've grown happier and happier. It's really important, something to boost our mood when things seem to be really bad.

I wish your friend the best. Don't know if it matters, but I'll be praying for him.

That's exactly what I mean... People nowadays are so worried about being stylish, being intelligent, being smart, being everything, but they just forget what is most important: being happy, having peace to enjoy their lives.

And that's what Arashi is all about.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry about your friend. Actually, more than a year ago, when I was a senior in high school, my dad had to be hospitalized for brain cancer and lung cancer. So, as for using Arashi to get over troubles, I can relate a little. From the beginning of his time in the hospital, there was really no chance for recovery, but... he had to be under constant care for months. I didn't want to talk to anyone about it, especially at the end, and there were so many other things I had to do at that time to prepare for college and graduation. It was probably the lowest point in my life thus far. Arashi, at that time, was simply the only thing I could depend on to cheer me up. Arashi shows, music, dramas, all of it--I don't want to see where I'd be without them.

Anyway, welcome to the Arashi fandom dear, I hope it continues to help you through this difficult time.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, and I wish them all the best for their recovery.

I haven't had anything that serious happen to me, however I became extremely depressed a few years ago, and around that time I discovered Arashi. It got to the point that I couldn't go outside, and I had pretty much stopped eating (I'd eat maybe one slice of bread each day). I was very isolated and my closest friends weren't really there for me, and the only time I could even smile was from watching Arashi being their goofy selves. It took a while for me to pull myself together, but Arashi really helped to make me feel like it wasn't all a waste of time for me to do so.

So yeah, Arashi have been there for me when my friends weren't, so they've really helped me overcome troubles.

Sorry bout your friend. Hope he will recover soon. Arashi just amazing isn't it? I haven't have anything serious happen to me, but whenever I was too stressed out in life, I always turn to Arashi. They give me the energy to deal with my problem and move on. Welcome to the fandom.

Your friend's situation is heart-breaking, do really wish him well. I second what sapphire_ddj says, Arashi provides genki energy whenever we're down. Esp when I read Nino's nikki, his attitude of "gambatte" for the next day and no matter what happens just spurs me on! They are also very close-knit, always in support for each other, Arashi spirit forever~

I hope your friend recovers soon! That's got to be hard, and I've never been in that situation, but I do wish you both well. I know what you mean about the medicinal effects of Arashi--I've gotten through a couple of tough times with them by my side, so to speak, and I'm glad to hear they're helping you out too. :D
